5 Strategies For Effective LinkedIn Marketing

How to use LinkedIn to build your business is not a one-time process. To get the most from your LinkedIn marketing efforts, you must continually build your business through strategic planning and action. Here are four ways to make the most of your LinkedIn marketing:

Create a profile for your business on LinkedIn, not just a business page. LinkedIn’s homepage is where you begin your marketing strategy. Before you can truly engage your audience, create a profile for your business that describes your industry and emphasizes your unique selling proposition (USP). LinkedIn should be a platform that makes it easy for you to connect with your audience and share content with your target audience.

Search for business in LinkedIn. If you want to reach out to your audience, do so on LinkedIn, not in Google or Bing. Google and Bing provide search results based on keywords, while LinkedIn provides an enhanced view of your industry and the connections within it. Searching in LinkedIn will find profiles for businesses in your industry, making it easier to connect with your target audience. Furthermore, if you are a business owner, you can promote your own business page for free. For companies without a profile or for business owners looking for an edge, consider using LinkedIn Search, which provides search results tailored to your specific industry.

Share content on your business page. LinkedIn pages are excellent vehicles for sharing content with others. You can share your company profile or articles with colleagues, potential customers and other business owners. However, keep in mind that content published on your company profile may show up in Google and Yahoo search results. To optimize your content for search engine results, consider having your URL to include the keywords and key phrases you wish to appear higher in Google or Yahoo’s list of results.

Use multimedia in your content. LinkedIn is a fantastic platform for sharing images and videos, among many other kinds of content. It also allows you to create and share your own blog post. With a video, for example, you can show your audience a brief presentation or demonstrate how a product or service can help them. LinkedIn’s mobile content capabilities allow users to take advantage of this functionality.

For content marketing, do not forget to use the US section. We don’t want to overlook the US section when it comes to sharing content – more than anything else, people from the US are used to filtering information according to their geographical location. Add a link to your company page in the US section of LinkedIn, create a business account there and then link your LinkedIn account to your company page. If you are a business owner, you can leverage LinkedIn’s powerful search capabilities to find profiles in the US that would be interesting to connect with.
